We are located in Southern California. My husband & I are a team and he’s at my side through all the late night births and every vet visit. Over the last decade, we have raised a few generations of beautiful sweet-natured goldens that have become wonderful companions and support animals. Many of our puppy families continue to trust us for a second and third pup and we find many great homes because of their referrals. Owners are stopped on the street and asked where their dog was bred and that feels so good! Our family-raised Golden Retrievers are born, nurtured & loved in our home, socialized from day one. All pups are vet-checked, premium fed, & given age-appropriate shots & worming. We put all of our time, energy & love into each and every individual dog & pup to ensure they are healthy, happy, confident babies, & very loved! Our owners become part of our larger family.
Our carefully selected golden parents come from healthy lineage, with great temperaments, and no known history of cancer, joint disease, heart disease or other genetic concerns. We do genetic health testing to rule out any breed relevant diseases & get their OFA health checks for hips, elbows, eye & heart to ensure they are fit for breeding. We feed our adults and offspring premium food, nutritional supplements and regular immunity builders to ensure they are in the best health and breeding condition. We partner with expert reproductive veterinarians to monitor our adults and ensure our puppies get the best possible start to life!
Our puppies are socialized and raised indoors with the family to encourage the human bond and produce confident, happy puppies. We do Early Neurological Stimulation and Early Scent Introduction to support maximum brain development, adaptability and focus. We provide a play area designed to encourage exploration & healthy play. We introduce crate training readiness for a smooth transition to their forever homes. Our in-home litters transition to families with the support of 4 weeks of virtual puppy training & 8 weeks of Q & A support for the best possible bonding and behavioral start.
ADOPTION PENDING. This dark golden boy is from two red parents... dad is Wyatt's half brother, Doc's nephew. His breeder says he is a hugger, understands the doggie door, sit, come, leave it, and is good with the crate. One male, 9 weeks, ready now in Casa Grande, AZ. Both parents are smaller (57 & 65 lbs), genetically tested, OFA certified hips, elbows, heart & eyes, DNA clear and ENS trained, vet checked, 1st shots & ready for adoption ASAP. AKC Limited registration $2800. Pedigree & health testing information is available on request.
A beautiful repeat litter just arrived on May 31! There‘s a lot of interest and pick order spots are filling by deposit now. One male, three females currently available. Both parents are genetically tested, OFA certified hips, elbows, heart & eyes, mom titled CGC for hospital therapy access. Pups are starting ENS training, will be litter box trained, vet checked, 1st shots & ready for adoption July 23-26. AKC Limited registration $4250. Pedigree & health testing information is available on request.
A couple stunning repeat red AKC/OFA litters are arriving by Oakley’s sister Ruby and half sister Kleo in mid June! Some priority female spots and one male are open for advance deposits now, (due date 6/16, adoption mid August). We will know more about any additional male openings after we have the gender counts after birth. If you want priority information on these or other summer litters (also due in June/July), apply asap, link at the top of this site. Their 2024 litter was all red/golden, some with a wisp of white! The pups will have ENS training, vet check, first shots, worming. $3400 AKC Limited registration.
In case the summer is the best time for you to add your new forever friend, we want you to know some good news. Wyatt & Doc have been paired in recent weeks with some beautiful AKC/OFA/health-tested goldens. Due dates start mid to late June, going home mid to late August, depending on the date of birth. Others are coming due in July to go home in September. We expect a range of shades as some parents are red/red pairs and some are red/cream pairs. Our applicants and interest list will get the first priority email announcements for the pick order AFTER they are born! If you keep finding other breeders sold out before birth, the way we work still gives families a chance to get an earlier pick spot closer to adoption time. You can apply at the top of our website. These are repeat pairings of some of our favorites, amazing pups.
Doc is a stunning dog with lots of drive and personality. He LOVES to go in the pool and to fetch balls, toys, sticks, pine cones, etc. His coat is a dark mahogany red with a full mane & tail. He is the sire of our in-house litters as well as some others locally. He is DNA genetically clear of genetic diseases & OFA certified, heart, hips, elbows & eyes, CHIC certified. k9data pedigree & health testing link:
Wyatt is Doc's son & would sit at my side all day if he could, waiting for snuggles. He loves all ball & toy games and running in front of the hose too. He is totally in love with us, but I’m his favorite. His DNA genetic testing is clear of all inheritable diseases, he has OFA heart, eyes, hips/elbows & CHIC certified. He is a smaller boy (about 68-70lbs) so we often pair him specifically for those who prefer a smaller golden. k9data pedigree & health testing:
Oakley is paired with Doc for larger red pups. She is sweet as can be and loves to please us. She also loves to play fetch and will give her mom Brandy a bit of competition but surrenders in the end. She is AKC, DNA genetically clear, OFA completed for heart, OFA preliminary for hips/elbows. She's a very attentive mama! Our pups are given Early Neurological Stimulation & Early Scent Introduction training and access to a 4 week Puppy System training course for optimal support for adopting families. Next litter TBD Fall 2025.
Chanel is paired with our smaller boy Wyatt for medium to dark pups. She is a petite 60 lb golden from wonderful European champion lines and is my sweet velcro girl. She is AKC, DNA genetically clear & has OFA eyes, heart, hips/elbows, CHIC certified. She is a fabulous mom! Our pups are given Early Neurological Stimulation & Early Scent Introduction training and access to a 4 week Puppy System training course for optimal support for adopting families. Past pups are beautiful and good-natured, golden to dark golden. Next litter TBD Fall 2025.
Brandy retired in early '24. She is Oakley's mother. She is the alpha queen of the castle! She is sweet but in charge. If there is a game of fetch or find it, she has drive & WILL be the one to get it by hook or by crook. She is AKC, DNA genetically clear & OFA certified for heart, hips, elbows & eyes. She loves on all our pups and is a good teacher. She is also very gentle & calm with kids and the elderly.
Doc & Oakley's 2025 litter were featured on a national commercial and did a great job!

A lot of these are mentioned in our reviews. Here are a few:
We have received great feedback regarding temperaments from our lines, in fact we ourselves have retained a few generations because they are so personable. Our pet families send updates about how sweet, smart & trainable they are, in some cases the best they have owned. Of course, every pup is individual and can benefit from early training and socialization, but several in our lines have tested well for emotional support or service. Some of our pups are recent graduates from training with Patriot Service Dogs (for veterans), The Service Dog Connection (for disabled/mobility) and the National Institute of Canine Service & Training (for First Response K9). We are so proud of these babies!
Your first step is to complete the application questionnaire (see How to Apply?). That helps me know your preferences of gender, timing and shade of golden (blonde, golden or red) and more about your home and family. I will then send email announcements after they are born regarding relevant availability. Then it's time for the gender specific pick order deposit. Specific puppies are not chosen until their personalities are emerging and they engage with prospective families. You wouldn't chose a spouse by looks alone, so we feel it's important to meet and connect with them individually and get our input. When pups are 5-6 weeks old, we'll set face to face appointments in order of deposit to choose your puppy with an additional deposit due. The balance is due when it is time for them to go home at 8 weeks, after their final vet check. Be sure to add our email address as a trusted contact so your spam filter doesn't delay our announcement emails!
There is no obligation or fee to submit our application questionnaire. This will give you priority updates before they are public, based on your preferences of timing, shade of golden and gender. We will email announcements when there are pups available for deposit that would suit your family. You can change your timing and preferences anytime by simply replying to our announcement email. These are various purebred registry types. Our dogs are AKC, which stands for American Kennel Club. AKC has the most historical ancestry records, back to the 1800's for goldens, spot checked and verified by DNA. AKC Limited registration is the most common & best for companion and service dogs. Full AKC registration includes breeding/show rights and is rarely granted for our at-home litters and the majority of our stud offspring. CKC is Continental Kennel Club. There are occasional litters by our stud(s) with a CKC mom so those pups are CKC registered and more affordable. If you are looking for AKC or prefer CKC, getting on our interest list for advance emails will help you find a match. If we don't have a good fit, we are more than happy to refer to someone we trust.
Yes, we partner with Dre Nolon of My Loyal Hound to support our puppy families, including their enrollment in The Puppy System and we also offer the same course at a discounted rate for puppy parents who adopt their puppy from someone else. It's a 4-week virtual puppy training course that offers unlimited, personalized support at your fingertips, plus a weekly zoom Q & A and an interactive community page. The course is accessible for a year so you can repeat lessons again and again. This course provides excellent support with:
We accept Zelle, cash or secure payments through the GoodDog platform. The GoodDog platform allows for payments through your bank account or a credit card, for those who prefer credit payments.
Generally no. That is why we don't accept deposits before birth. When you deposit, we make a commitment to you that you will definitely be getting your puppy and will turn away other families. We will not consider other inquiries once we take a deposit on the availability. If you have to change your plans that means your puppy does not have someone else lined up, so we'd need to start over in our search for the right family. If you give us reasonable notice and another good home is found for the pup right away, we will often consider returning a portion of your deposit minus any additional expenses for advertising, extended search, etc. If we ourselves have to cancel due to some unforeseen circumstance, we will refund 100% promptly.
We prefer local families or those willing to come meet us face to face. Travel can be traumatic for a puppy so we want to be sure it is as seamless as possible. We have met a few families curbside at our local airport (Ontario or Orange County) for a short accompanied flight, but we won't send a puppy alone as cargo. We may use a pet-friendly ground transport company (Four-Legged Kids Bus) or flight nanny at buyer expense, if it is not too far.
If I missed something that you and others would like to know, please reach out. We are generally very responsive by email. 4LoveOfGoldens@gmail.com
